Black Horizon
Far beyond the dying sun
Where the silent waters sleep
I rode alone above the waves
Into the endless deep
A shadow turned the sky to stone
A spiral in the night
A black horizon slowly formed
Devouring the light
The ocean roared beneath my wings
The storm began to rise
A twisting tunnel in the void
Like a wound across the skies
Fear whispered in my mind
“Turn away before you fall”
But something deep within my soul
Was stronger than it all
The wind became a screaming cry
The world began to bend
One final breath… one final dive
Beyond the edge of end
Into the black horizon I fly
Where the unknown worlds remain
Through the vortex of the night
Through the shadow and the flame
Past the fear and past the storm
Through the endless cosmic sea
In the darkness of the void
Something waits for me
The spiral pulled my soul inside
Through lightning black and cold
A thousand echoes in the dark
Of stories never told
Then suddenly the storm was gone
The sky became serene
Before my eyes a perfect world
Unlike I’d ever seen
No sickness there
No pain or war
No tears upon the land
A peaceful life beneath the sun
A child within my hand
Beyond the black horizon I see
A world where shadows die
Where broken hearts can finally heal
Beneath a golden sky
In that light I saw my life
A path I never knew
A chance to rise beyond the past
And start the world anew
But the light began to grow
Like a star inside the night
A blazing gate of endless fire
A storm of silver light
Then the heavens split in two
And the silence broke apart
A voice beyond the cosmic veil
Spoke deep within my heart
Through the black horizon I fell
Into the burning white
The past dissolving into dust
Inside the holy light
For the man who flew the storm
And walked the void alone
Would rise again upon the earth
To claim a life unknown
And somewhere in the newborn cry
A memory still survives…
Of the man who crossed the darkness
To begin a second life.
